Cobourg Donuts

Today's session featured a cheap pre-roll, the Maximum Force demo on the speakers, and homemade donuts fresh from the kitchen. Real yeast dough, a quick proof, and a fast fry. That's the whole recipe.

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp yeast
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tbsp warm water
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 egg
  • Oil, for frying

Directions

  1. Activate the yeast with the warm water and sugar for 10 minutes, until foamy.
  2. Once foamy, add the flour, milk, butter, and egg.
  3. Mix in a stand mixer with the dough hook for 5 minutes.
  4. Cut the dough into shapes.
  5. Proof in the oven with a pan of hot water placed underneath.
  6. Fry in oil for 30 seconds on each side.
  7. Cool, then decorate with whatever you want.

The Verdict

Light, fluffy, and gone in about four minutes. Best decorated however you want and eaten standing up at the counter. Cobourg approved.
